a new beginning
The history of the Alpha Pi Charter of Sigma Psi Zeta started when our primary founder and interest group President, Pachia Xiong, founded the interest group 'SCARLET' (Sisterhood, Character, Activism, Respect, Leadership, Empowerment, and Thrive). SCARLET was founded in the Fall 2017 in hopes of building a new community and bringing more opportunities for women on campus.
While it started with one woman, it soon became ten by Spring 2019. During the time between SCARLET being founded and chartering the Alpha Pi Charter, the interest group hosted various events for the campus and the surrounding community.
